The photographic paper splashed back and forth in the tray and within 2 minutes my first image appeared in the red haze of the safe light. To this eleven year old this was magic and I was the magician. It was a black and white picture of a friend sitting on a bench at the beach. I knew I had found my voice as an artist.
60 thousand images later I have spent my life recording where I have been and I have been many places. I produce television commercials all over the globe and have been in extraordinary venues at perfect light.
I have been asked what it is that I am drawn to shoot and I say that my photography is about composition and light. It does matter. The frame must be perfect before I pull the trigger though. I approach my art as though there is no delete button and my intention is for everything to be in the frame that IS in the frame, no cropping out unwanted elements.
